Steve and Linda Sander's Trip to Finland Monday, June 11, 2001 -- PM We found a Russian cafe that served a delicious lunch -- chicken with sunflower seeds and herbs, potatoes, pickled beets and turnips. Then we walked around a bit more. Tallinn has numerous old churches, including a 13th century church with a great clock, and a 19th century Russian church.With the Soviets gone, there are peddlers everywhere selling old Soviet items -- passports, Communist Party ID booklets, commemorative pins, uniforms, etc. In the evening we took the cruise ship back -- had a fine smorgesbord during the trip. Then we drove back to Turku, arriving around midnight (but it was still fairly light out -- it never really gets dark this time of year.)
