Steve and Linda Sander's Trip to Finland
Saturday, June 9, 2001 -- PM
Nykarleby is the main town. It has a pretty river that has been dammed. Nearby is the old family
home that dates back to the 19th century but has been abandoned.
Nearly everyone in Finland has a summer cottage on the water. We went out to Jarl's place.
Kim and Steve took a three-mile canoe trip around one of the larger islands. Linda and
Kim also took a trip (shorter).

Later we returned to the farm for a suana. Practically every
home and apartment has a sauna. Linda and Ann-Len went first -- then Kim, Steve and Mats.
After enduring 140 degree hot air (while drinking a beer), we went out into the cool
Finnish night. (It was about 11:00 p.m., but still light out.)
